School setup and configuration

Set up your school profile, timezone, tax information, and other foundational settings.

Getting started

When you first create your school on FutureNerds, you need to configure a few things before inviting families and teachers. All school configuration lives on the admin page, which only administrators can access.

The admin page

Click the School Settings tab on your school dashboard. You see several tabs across the top:

  • Overview -- quick stats (total students, teachers, outstanding revenue, upcoming events) and links to manage users and classrooms.
  • General -- school profile, timezone, tax information, and the daily parent digest toggle.
  • Sessions -- academic sessions and reporting periods.
  • Mastery Levels -- customize the labels and colors for progress tracking.
  • Templates -- message templates for staff communication.

School profile

Admin general settings

On the General tab you can configure:

  • School name -- displayed across the platform and in emails to families.
  • Logo -- appears on your dashboard, public application page, and report cards.
  • Address and phone number -- shown on public-facing pages and invoices.
  • Time zone -- controls how dates and times display for everyone at your school. Choose from a grouped dropdown organized by region.
  • Tax ID (EIN) -- your school's employer identification number. This appears on invoices.

Application page

Your school has a public application page at a unique URL. Families can visit this page to apply for enrollment without creating an account first. You can customize:

  • Welcome message -- shown at the top of the application form.
  • Required fields -- choose which information you need from applicants.
  • Programs -- list the programs families can apply to (e.g., Toddler, Primary, Elementary).

Daily parent digest

On the General tab, you can toggle the daily parent digest on or off and set the delivery time. When enabled, parents receive an automated email each day summarizing their child's check-in status, daily classroom summary, and recent observations. See the daily parent digest guide for details.

Next steps

Once your school profile is complete, invite your teachers and start creating classrooms.
