Closing your account

Download a copy of your data first. Once your FutureNerds account is deleted, it cannot be restored.

Download your data

1. Open School Settings.
2. Under Account, click Download Your Data.
3. Click Download Your Data again to start the file.

You get a JSON file with your profile, your children, enrollments, observations, attendance, consent records, and audit trail. The same download is on the Account tab of Profile Settings. It is on the website only.

Before you delete

FutureNerds will not delete your account while any of these is true:

• You are the only active administrator of a school. Invite another administrator in People and Roles, or use Transfer Ownership under Account to hand the school over.
• You recorded things the school has to keep, such as attendance, observations, photos, or posts. Another administrator can deactivate your account instead.
• An invoice, subscription, or billing assignment names you as the payer.

If one of these stops you, email privacy@futurenerds.dev.

Delete your account on the website

1. Open School Settings.
2. Under Account, click Delete Your Account.
3. Click Delete My Account.
4. Type DELETE in the box and click Permanently Delete Account.

You are signed out when it finishes.

Delete your account in the app

• iPhone or iPad: open More, tap Delete Account, and confirm.
• Android: open More, then Settings, tap Delete Account, and confirm.

What is deleted

• Your login, profile, and roles
• Your applications and their documents
• Children only you look after who were never enrolled
• Your messages, reactions, poll votes, and pins
• Your profile photo and payment proofs

What is kept

• The school's records about enrolled children
• Classroom conversations you started, which move to another administrator
• Other records you worked on, with your name removed

Your personal data is deleted or anonymized, usually within 30 days. Records the law requires us to keep, such as tax and accounting records, are kept longer. Backups are cleared on a regular cycle.
