Deleting your account

Deleting your FutureNerds account cannot be undone.

Before you delete

FutureNerds will not delete your account if you recorded things your school has to keep, such as attendance, observations, photos, or posts. Most teachers have. Ask a school administrator to deactivate your account instead. You lose access to the school, and the school keeps its records.

To have your personal details removed after that, email privacy@futurenerds.dev.

Delete your account on the website

1. Open the account menu and click Profile Settings.
2. Open the Account tab.
3. Click Delete My Account.
4. Type DELETE in the box and click Permanently Delete Account.

You are signed out when it finishes.

Delete your account in the app

• iPhone or iPad: open More, tap Delete Account, and confirm.
• Android: open More, then Settings, tap Delete Account, and confirm.

What is deleted

• Your login, profile, and roles
• Your messages, reactions, poll votes, and pins
• Your profile photo

What is kept

• The school's records about its children
• Classroom conversations you started, which move to a school administrator
• Other records you worked on, with your name removed

Your personal data is deleted or anonymized, usually within 30 days. Records the law requires us to keep, such as tax and accounting records, are kept longer. Backups are cleared on a regular cycle.
