Meals and the menu

If your school serves meals, FutureNerds shows you the week's cafeteria menu and, where the school allows it, lets you manage your child's meals from their profile.

Viewing the menu

1. Go to the Meals tab on your school dashboard.
2. You see the cafeteria menu for the week, laid out by day.
3. Each day lists the meals being served.

Meals depend entirely on what your school turns on. If you do not see a Meals tab, your school does not serve meals through the app.

Managing your child's meals

Some schools let you choose or opt in to meals for your child. When that is the case:

1. Go to your child's profile.
2. Click the Meals tab.
3. Make your selections for the days the school allows.

What you can do here varies by school. You might be able to sign your child up for meals, skip days, or note a preference. If the Meals tab does not appear on your child's profile, your school keeps meal choices in-house and there is nothing for you to manage.

Allergies and dietary needs

The menu does not replace telling the school about allergies. Make sure your child's allergies and medical notes are current on their profile, and message the school directly about any dietary needs.

Tips

• Check the menu at the start of the week so you know which days to pack a lunch, if any.
• Keep your child's allergy information up to date on their profile.
• If a meal selection deadline applies, your school will tell you. Make your choices before then.
