Reporting an absence

You can report your child's absence directly from FutureNerds instead of calling or emailing the school.

How to report

1. Go to your child's profile.
2. Click the Attendance tab.
3. Click the Report absence button.
4. Fill in:
   • Absence date -- the date your child will be absent (defaults to today).
   • Multiple days -- check this box if the absence spans more than one day, then set the end date.
   • Reason -- choose from: Illness, Family, or Vacation.
   • Message -- an optional note with additional details.
5. Click Submit.

The absence is recorded for each day in the range. The teacher sees it in their attendance view with the reason and your message.

Tips

• Report absences as early as possible so the teacher can plan accordingly.
• For extended absences (a week or more), consider also messaging the teacher directly.
• You can report absences for future dates if you know about them in advance.
