What Procare does well

Procare's help center describes three product lines, Procare Desktop, Procare Online and Procare SchoolCare Works, each with Tuition Express payment processing. Tuition Express takes credit, debit and ACH payments with autopay, and a Parent Wallet stores up to six payment methods. Procare Online syncs invoices and payments with QuickBooks Online in real time. For learning, it tracks milestones with preloaded state standards for all 50 states and Montessori learning, and staff build a pool of lessons for planning.

Procare's help center also shows these limits:

Procare does not show a price we could check.

2. Transparent Classroom

3. Montessori Compass

Over 3,000 lessons from infant through age 12. $2.00 per student per month for records, or $6.00 for the Growth Suite with billing and admissions. 30-day free trial. The interface is English only.

Suits a Montessori school that wants a large lesson library and billing from the same vendor.

4. FutureNerds

How to choose a Procare alternative

  1. Decide whether you need real-time QuickBooks Online sync. If you do, compare carefully before you leave Procare.
  2. If you need payroll or CACFP, get a brightwheel quote.
  3. If you want lesson-by-lesson Montessori records, try Transparent Classroom, Montessori Compass or FutureNerds with one classroom.
  4. Export your data from Procare. In Procare Online, use Quick Reports to export student and parent data as a PDF, and build custom reports in CSV.
  5. In Procare Desktop, use Data Viewer, then Export, then CSV, as its help page describes.
  6. Import families into the new product from the CSV and run one week side by side.
