What each costs

Prices below were checked October 14, 2026. MRX charges a flat $325 per classroom per year, so its cost depends on how many rooms you have. The table assumes up to 25 children per classroom: 1 room for 25 children, 2 rooms for 40 and 4 rooms for 80. FutureNerds costs (children minus 10) x $0.50 a month, which is (children minus 10) x $6 a year.

ChildrenFutureNerds per yearMRX per year
25(25 - 10) x $6 = $901 x $325 = $325
40(40 - 10) x $6 = $1802 x $325 = $650
80(80 - 10) x $6 = $4204 x $325 = $1,300

MRX costs less when you have many children per room. For a school with one room, the prices meet at about 64 children: (64 - 10) x $6 = $324 a year on FutureNerds and $325 on MRX. At 65 children, FutureNerds costs $330.

FutureNerds has no setup fee. If your school collects payments from families through FutureNerds, standard Stripe fees plus 1% apply. See pricing.

MRX offers a 3-month money-back guarantee.

Where MRX is stronger

Where FutureNerds is stronger

  • Attendance. Staff check children in and out, and parents report absences with a reason (illness, personal reason, medical appointment or vacation). Absences show as Scheduled on the staff Today screen.
  • Billing. You set tuition, fees, meals, club fees and field trips, and families pay by card through Stripe or upload proof of a bank transfer. Invoices move through draft, sent, paid and overdue, with reminders on days 1, 8 and 15 past due.
  • Admissions. Families apply on a public form with 9 question types. Applications move through statuses including submitted, under review, visit scheduled, waitlisted and approved.
  • Messaging and posts. Classroom channels, direct messages and posts with parent acknowledgement go out by push, email and in-app.
  • Toddler daily records. Infant and toddler rooms log naps, meals, diapers, activities and mood.
  • Cost for small rooms. A 40-child school pays $180 a year on FutureNerds.

FutureNerds has its own limits. Its help center and these pages are in English. It has no direct QuickBooks sync. Invoices and payments export as a QuickBooks-format CSV. Apple Pay and Google Pay are not available yet, and the observation-sheet photo reader is new.
