FutureNerds is a toddler daily report app for Montessori schools. Guides log naps, meals, diapers, activities and moods, then write a daily summary from a draft filled from the day's records. Parents read it in the app and in an evening digest. It is free for your first 10 students.

## What guides log

Each entry belongs to one child on one day. FutureNerds has five entry types:

| Entry | What the guide records |
| --- | --- |
| Nap | Start time and end time |
| Meal | Breakfast, morning snack, lunch or afternoon snack. Amount eaten: all, most, some or none. The items served |
| Diaper | Wet, soiled, both or dry, and whether cream was applied |
| Activity | The activity name and how many minutes |
| Mood | Happy, calm, fussy, upset or sleepy |

Guides add entries from the classroom's Daily Tracking page, or from Quick Record, the floating button that can save a tracking entry and an observation in one step. Daily Tracking has a Batch entry button for logging the same entry for several children at once, and the iPhone app has a batch entry sheet as well.

An Active naps panel at the top of Daily Tracking lists every child who is asleep. When a child wakes, the guide ends the nap from there and the end time is saved.

## Which rooms log which entries

Daily records follow the age of the room. The classroom level decides which entry types guides see. The database applies the same rule, and it refuses an entry type that does not belong to the room.

| Classroom level | Entry types |
| --- | --- |
| Infant/Toddler (0 to 3) | Nap, meal, diaper, activity, mood |
| Primary (3 to 6) | Activity and mood |
| Lower Elementary, Upper Elementary, Adolescent | None |

Any room whose youngest age is under 48 months also gets naps, whatever its level. A Primary room that takes children from age 2 and a half can log naps, and a Primary room that starts at age 4 cannot.

## The daily summary

At the end of the day, a guide writes one daily summary for the classroom. The Generate draft button fills a template from that day's attendance, observations and lesson plans. The guide edits the draft, adds what the template left out, and saves it.

Parents see the summary as "Today's summary" on their Today screen. The last 3 daily reports also show on the School Day screen for their child.

## The evening digest for parents

A school can send parents a daily digest. It is off until a school admin turns it on in settings and picks the time to send it. Each digest covers one child for one day and can include:

- the classroom's daily summary
- the child's tracking entries, such as naps, meals and diapers
- observations shared with parents
- the child's attendance status

Times in the digest use the school's time zone. Parents get it through the channels they chose in their notification settings.

## Platforms

Daily tracking works on the web and in the FutureNerds apps for iPhone, iPad and Android. Parents read daily summaries on the same three.

## How to log a toddler's day in FutureNerds

1. Open the classroom and choose Daily Tracking. The date defaults to today.
2. Tap Nap, Meal, Diaper, Activity or Mood next to a child.
3. Fill in the details, such as the meal and amount eaten, and save.
4. To log the same thing for several children, use Batch entry.
5. When a child wakes, end the nap from the Active naps panel.
6. At the end of the day, open the daily summary, tap Generate draft, edit it and save.
7. If the school has the digest turned on, parents receive it at the time the school set.

## What it costs

## Questions and answers

### What can teachers track for toddlers in FutureNerds?

Naps, meals, diapers, activities and moods. Infant/Toddler rooms get all five, and Primary rooms get activity and mood.

### Does FutureNerds write the daily report with AI?

No. Generate draft fills a template from the day's attendance, observations and lesson plans, and the guide edits it before saving.

### How do parents find out about naps and meals?

When the school turns on the FutureNerds daily digest, each parent gets a summary for their child at the time the school picks, with that day's tracking entries such as naps, meals and diapers. Parents also see Today's summary in the app once the guide saves it.

### Can I log a meal for the whole class at once?

Yes. Use Batch entry on the Daily Tracking page to record the same entry for several children.

### Is there a free toddler daily report app?

FutureNerds is free for your first 10 students, with daily tracking included. After that, it costs $0.50 per child per month.
