# Montessori school app for iPhone, iPad, Android and Apple Watch

FutureNerds is a Montessori school app for iPhone and Android, with native apps for iPhone, iPad and Android phones and an Apple Watch app. Parents report absences, read updates and see classroom photos, and staff take attendance and record observations from the same apps.

## One app for parents and staff

There is one FutureNerds app on each platform. What a person sees depends on their role at the school.

The iPhone, iPad and Android apps are native apps, written in Swift for Apple devices and Kotlin for Android. They cover the same school work as the website:

- attendance, check-in and check-out, and parent absence reports
- observations, progress and lesson planning
- toddler daily records: naps, meals, diapers, activity and mood
- messages, class channels and school posts
- classroom photos
- the school calendar, events, bookings and clubs
- forms, document signatures and checklists
- invoices and report cards

## Extras on the phone

The apps also use features that only a phone has.

On iPhone a parent can say "Report an absence in FutureNerds" or "FutureNerds pickup" to Siri. On Android the same three actions appear when you press and hold the app icon.

## The Apple Watch app

The watch app pairs with the iPhone app.

- **Parents** see today's pickup, upcoming events and messages.
- **Staff** see the day's arrivals and mark children as they come in.

Android has no watch app.

## 14 languages

FutureNerds runs in 14 languages on the web, iPhone, iPad and Android:

## How to get the FutureNerds app

1. Ask your school to invite you, or create your school at futurenerds.dev if you run one.
2. On iPhone or iPad, download FutureNerds from the App Store. On Android, download it from Google Play.
3. Open the app and sign in with the email address the school invited.
4. Turn on notifications so messages, absences and reminders reach you.
5. On iPhone, add the Today widget to your home screen. On Android, add the Today widget from the widget list.
6. If you have an Apple Watch, install FutureNerds on the watch from the Watch app on your iPhone.

## What it costs

FutureNerds is free for your first 10 students. After that it costs $0.50 per child per month, with no setup fee. If your school collects payments from families through FutureNerds, standard Stripe fees plus 1% apply. See [pricing](/pricing).
